10 Best Things to Eat on Jeju Island: Tested Over 10 Days (With Exact Addresses)

I just spent 10 days on Jeju Island doing what I do best: eating a lot and taking notes. Jeju gets hyped for its beaches and volcanic landscapes, but honestly? The food scene might be the best reason to book the flight. I tried a ridiculous amount of food so you don't have to guess where to go, and I'm narrowing it down to the 10 things you actually need to eat, plus exactly where to get them. Save this post before your trip.

1. Korean BBQ

You can't visit Jeju without eating black pork belly (heuk-dwaeji) at least once — it's the island's signature pork, raised locally, and it tastes noticeably richer than regular samgyeopsal. If you want beef instead, Jeju does thick-cut short ribs really well too.

Black pork belly:

• Donsadon (돈사돈): 19 Upyeong-ro, Jeju-si. Daily 12:00–22:00, closed Tuesdays. 
  Known for their thick-cut "geongogi" pork — get there early, it fills up fast. They have a few branches around the island, so double check you're headed to the right one.
• 남매네흑돼지 서귀포점: 24-1 Jungjeong-ro 61beon-gil, Seogwipo-si. Roughly 11:00–22:00 
  Highly rated and conveniently located inside Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market.
• Dombedon (돔베돈): 25 Gwandeok-ro 15-gil, Jeju-si. Daily 11:00–23:00
  A Michelin Guide Jeju pick, about an 8-minute walk from Dongmun Market, with free parking right across the street.
• Badabon: 123 Chilsimni-ro (2F), Seogwi-dong, Seogwipo-si, daily 12:00–22:00
  It's located near Seogwipo Olle Market, and there is a beautiful view of the ocean.

Beef ribs:

• Mongtan Jeju (몽탄 제주점): 83 Dongbok-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si (1F). 11:30–21:00
  Their thick short rib (udae-galbi) is the move. This place is popular — book a table on Catchtable up to 14 days ahead if you can.
• 거부갈비 (Geobu Galbi): 3 Jewon 4-gil, Jeju-si. Daily 11:30–23:00
  Big parking lot, known for their dombe-galbi.

2. Seafood

Jeju is an island, so obviously the seafood is next level. Whether you want it grilled, raw, in a spicy stew, or turned into noodle soup, this island has range.

• Negeori Restaurant (네거리식당): 20 Seomun-ro 29beon-gil, Seogwipo-si. 07:00–21:30
  Order the grilled hairtail (galchi) and they'll throw in complimentary grilled mackerel too. Free parking nearby.
• 전망좋은횟집&흑돼지 성산본점: 248 Ilchul-ro, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si. Daily 12:00–22:00 
  You get a view of Seongsan Ilchulbong while you eat, which is honestly worth it alone.
• Gozip Dol Wooluck (고집돌우럭): 879 Iljuseo-ro, Seogwipo-si, open for lunch 10:00–15:00 and dinner 17:00–21:30.
  There are a few brances so check which is closest to you.
• 협재칼국수 (Hyeopjae Kalguksu): 3 Hyeopjae-ro, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si. Weekdays 09:00–20:00
  Three minutes from Hyeopjae Beach, and they do takeout if you want to eat on the sand.
• Noraba (노라바): 100 Gueom-gil, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si. Weekdays 10:00–17:00, weekends 10:00–17:30.
  It's in a beautifully renovated stone house on the Aewol coast, and the octopus ramen comes loaded with a whole crab and abalone.

3. Cafe Desserts

Jeju's cafe game deserves its own trip. These are less about the food and more about the whole experience — the views, the vibes, the photos.

• Cafe Comma (카페 콤마): 359 Hallim-ro, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si. Open 365 days, 09:00–21:00 
  Also goes by "제주쉼표". Grab a seat on the 3rd floor facing the ocean near sunset and thank me later. They're also famous for the swings on the 2nd floor but those get taken up fast so go early or be patient and wait around for your turn since you can't have drinks and food at the swings area.
• Gamttanam (감따남): 13 Wolsan-ro, Seogwipo-si. 11:00–18:00 
  You get to pick your own tangerines when they're in season, and there's a super photogenic mini-bus prop at the entrance.
• Cafe Noeully (노을리): 656 Aewolhaean-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si. Roughly daily 09:00–21:00.
  Bakery and brunch spot with a little tropical garden built in. Their beanbag chairs are extra comfy for ultimate relaxation. 
  
• Cafe Hallasan (카페 한라산): 48 Myeonsu 1-gil, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si. 09:30–21:00
  Get the carrot cake and have fun posing with the retro tv by the window. Their resident cat is also super cute and chill.
  
• Starbucks Reserve -The Jeju Songdang Park R (더제주송당파크R): 1189 Bijarim-ro, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si. 09:00–20:00
  Largest Starbucks in Korea that spans across two floors. It opened in 2023 in Songdang Donghwa Village. There's a big garden with man-made waterfalls and a climb up a small hill to enjoy views of the entire store too. Plenty of free parking, which is rare for Jeju cafes.
  
• Cafe the Container (카페 더 콘테나): 513 Hamwa-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si. Usually open 10:30–18:30 but they’re currently on a temporary break.
  The cafe looks like a massive orange crate, and your drink gets lowered down to you on a pulley system. They also run their own mandarin fields, so the signature menu is fresh mandarin juice, and you can do mandarin picking in season for ₩5,000 a basket.

4. Shrimp Kimbap

Not your average convenience store kimbap. This one's stuffed with shrimp and it's almost too cute to eat.

• Jejusi Saewoori (제주시 새우리): 24 Mugeunseong 7-gil, Jeju-si. Daily 09:00–19:30
  They close early once they sell out (and they usually do). Follow them on Instagram to check for breaks before heading over. There's also a Seongsan-eup branch if that's more your route.

5. Hallabong-Shaped Ice Cream

Hallabong is Jeju's famous citrus fruit, and someone had the genius idea to turn it into ice cream shaped like the actual fruit. It's as trendy as it looks on Instagram.

• Hugely Jeju (휴즐리 제주): 83 Heungun-gil, Jeju-si. Daily 11:00–21:00
  They only make 300 servings of the hallabong and basalt-charcoal gelato per day, so don't sleep on this one. It's close to Yongduam Rock and the airport, easy to fit in on your way out.

6. Aesthetic Lunch Sets

If you want a lunch that photographs as well as it tastes, these two spots are it.

• Innisfree Jeju House (이니스프리 제주하우스): 23 Sinhwayeoksa-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si. Roughly daily 09:00–18:00 (hours change seasonally).
  I encourage you to eat it outdoors right by the tea fields for the best vibes. They also run a walk-in soap-making experience from 09:00–16:30 if you want to make a day of it.
• 여름정원: 40-5 Pungcheon-ro 192beon-gil, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si. 11:00 - 18:00, closed from Sunday - Wednesday.
  Reservation is required since it's a small family running the cafe so they need time to prepare the lunch set in advance. It's a beautifully renovated old Jeju hanok with a garden, so it books up.

7. Basil Cheese Pork Cutlet

This one's a detour to Udo Island (a short ferry ride from Jeju), and it's worth the trip.

• On-Off (온오프): 876 Udohaean-gil, Udo-myeon, Jeju-si. 11:00–18:00 
  The black pork cheese cutlet is limited to 100 orders a day, so go early. Heads up: they close if the Udo ferry gets suspended for weather, so check conditions before you head out.

8. Peanut Ice Cream

Also on Udo — the island is famous for growing peanuts, and the peanut ice cream here is a genuinely different experience from anything you'll find on the mainland.

• Blanc Rocher (블랑로쉐): 783 Udohaean-gil, Udo-myeon, Jeju-si (1F). Daily 11:00–17:30
  Floor-to-ceiling ocean-view windows, outdoor terrace, order at the kiosk.
• Udo Sand (우도샌드): 780-2 Udohaean-gil, Udo-myeon, Jeju-si. Daily 10:30-18:00 
  This is the place behind the peanut butter cookie sandwich everyone's talking about — you'll smell the roasted peanuts before you even find the door. Get the peanut ice cream too while you're there.

9. Pizza

Yes, pizza, on Jeju — and it's actually excellent.

• Donato's (도나토스): 6 Hyeopjae 2-gil, Hallim-eup, Jeju-si. 12:00–21:00 (Wednesdays only 17:00–21:00), break 15:30–17:00, closed Tuesdays.
  It's a no-kids zone. Wood-fired pizzas made by a chef that had studied in Italy. It's conveniently located right by Hyeopjae Beach.
• RE;BOSCO (리보스코화덕피자): 27 Sumogwon-gil, Jeju-si. 11:00–21:00, closed Wednesdays.
  Their dough is made with tot (sea mustard) hand-harvested by Jeju's haenyeo divers — such a cool local touch. It's small and quiet, near Hallim Arboretum, so I'd reserve ahead.

10. Hallabong

Last but not least — you have to eat an actual hallabong while you're here, straight off the tree if you can. Local fruit stands, markets, and pick-your-own farms have them in season from January through March, and they taste completely different from the ones you get shipped anywhere else. Keep an eye out for roadside stands as you drive around — some of the best ones aren't fancy at all, just a table and a farmer.
